Doc spotlight
The Seeds: Pushin Too Hard
Its a documentary about the band, fronted by charismatic lead singer Sky Saxon, that produced such teen anthems as Pushin Too Hard and Cant Seem to Make You Mine, and layed the groundwork for punk. It tells of the bands ups and downs through TV and concert clips, photos and interviews with original members, fans and observers, including Iggy Pop, Kim Fowley, Gene Norman, The Bangles, Johnny Echols of Love, and Bruce Johnson of The Beach Boys. It screens at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Hollywood Theatre, 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd. (www.hollywoodtheatre.org). Director Neil Norman will take questions and give answers after the show.
