Doc spotlight
The Beatles: Eight Days a Week The Touring Years
The documentary by Ron Howard hits theaters this week and streams on Hulu on Sept. 17, and then probably DVD soon. Its a compilation of found footage featuring music, interviews and stories from The Beatles 250 concerts from 1963 to 1966, from the Cavern Club in Liverpool to San Francisco in 66, with plenty of sound and images from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon and George Harrison. Its two hours, 18 minutes long and is part of the Hulu Documentary Films collection.

The Oregon Independent Film Festival will be held in Eugene (Sept. 20-22) and Portland (Sept. 23-28), featuring about 75 films from 14 countries.
