COURTESY: DAVID STRAUB - Artists Repertory Theatre puts on 'Trevor,' about a chimpanzee raised by a human family, Sept. 6-Oct. 9.
The Artists Repertory Theatre season opens with the award-winning tragicomedy inspired by true events about a chimpanzee — adopted into a human family — trying to revive his showbiz career, written by Nick Jones (“Orange Is the New Black”) and directed by Damaso Rodriguez, Artists Rep artistic director. There have been four performances already added in October. John San Nicholas plays the chimp, Trevor, and Sarah Lucht plays his “mom,” Sandra. In conjunction with the play, the Geezer Gallery will present “Reverie,” an exhibition highlighting the comedy, tragedy and magical realism illustrated in the performance through visual representation.
