Taste Oregon's finest foods, drinks without breaking the bank
Save your appetite, and then save your money at The Bite of Oregon, the states premier culinary event, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 12-14 at Waterfront Park.
Plates for the People is the theme and the Bite features 45 dishes for $5 or less, as the acclaimed Oregon Bounty Chefs Table returns, with chefs partnering to produce more of the locally sourced gourmet bites for the inexpensive price.
The chefs table has expanded to feature Oregon argricultural commissions, including blueberry and potato, and Seafood Oregon and Oregon Cherry Growers.
Therell be chef demonstrations and challenges, live entertainment (about 30 bands) and childrens activities.
In all, there are dozens of Oregon restaurants represented, with food carts, artisans and confectionaries serving dishes and flavors to satisfy everybody. Breweries, wineries, distilleries and cideries provide libations.
Leading chefs and mixologists will compete for titles of Oregons Iron Chef and Iron Mixologist titles.

Pacific Seafood is celebrating 75 years in business.
Stacey Givens from Side Yard Farm and Kitchen will be featured on the Chefs Stage on Friday.
And, celebrating the memory of Prince, the band Erotic City headlines the Garden Stage on Friday.

Its $5 to get into The Bite or free, if you participate in the Providence Bridge Pedal. More than 50,000 people annually attend The Bite of Oregon.
The Bite of Oregon benefits Special Olympics Oregon; all proceeds go to the cause.
