“One Million Dubliners”

Screened as part of PDX Death Cafe Goes to the Movies at the Clinton Street Theater, it’s the story of Glasnevin Cemetery, Ireland’s national necropolis and home of 1.5 million souls, and reveals the unspoken stories of ritual, loss, redemption, emotion and history, as well as the business of death — including Valentine’s Day sales, Americans visiting ancestors, gravediggers and musicians. It’s also about a tour guide shepherding folks through headstones and monuments, through opinions and beliefs. It’ll screen at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Clinton, 2522 S.E. Clinton St. (cstpdx.com).

Upcoming events

• The 10th anniversary show of Reel Rock — movies about climbing — will be coming to Portland, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Revolution Hall, 1300 S.E. Stark St. Tickets are $20 and sold online at revolutionhallpdx.com. The tour will be celebrating a special year in which there was a historic free ascent of the Dawn Wall and the death of free climber Dean Potter at Yosemite National Park, as well as the increase in popularity of climbing gyms and climbers. Last year’s tour included a documentary movie, “Valley Uprising,” about how people drop out of society and take up rock climbing at Yosemite. For more: reelrocktour.com.

• The Northwest Film Center presents a screening of “The Bells of St. Mary’s,” starring Ingrid Bergman as Sister Mary Benedict and the dilapidated St. Mary’s School that faces closure, and her partnership with Father Chuck O’Malley (Bing Crosby). It’ll screen at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Whitsell Auditorium, 1219 S.W. Park Ave. (nwfilm.org, $9 general, $8 students/seniors, $6 child).
