A collection of original and hand-signed work by Matisse, Picasso, Salvadore Dali, Andy Warhol, Basquiat and others the Masters Collection will accompany the display of the only known sculpture by Leonardo da Vinci, Horse and Rider, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 2-4, at Fenske Galleries, 255 E. Columbia River Highway in Troutdale. They are coming to Gary Fenskes gallery via art appraiser Brett Maly from a Las Vegas fine art gallery called Art encounter; hes the official art expert for The History Channel. And, the owner of the original mold and bronze sculpture, J.W. Petty, will accompany the da Vinci sculpture to Troutdale. Waterstone Gallery has moved to 124 N.W. Ninth Ave., and its next show, Earth Works, featuring large-scale landscape paintings by Sue-Del McCulloch and stone sculptures by Stuart Jacobson, opens at 6 p.m. First Thursday and goes through Nov. 1. For info: www.waterstonegallery.com.
Laura Russo Gallery, 805 N.W. 21st Ave., features new work by Eric Stotik and James Allens Book Excavations, the latter a collection of stories from tomes into which he has meticulously carved, creating fascinating sculptural reliefs from a two-dimensional form, the gallery says. There is something quite striking and enjoyable/humorous about seeing Jim Griswolds print Beer Hall Putsch Hitler, one of many of his works on display at Augen Gallery, 716 N.W. The Zymoglyphic Museum & Bathtub Art Museum, 211 S.E. Madison St., will have new exhibits with the theme of Oddly Curious including Zymoglyphic with Leatherface and Bathtub with postcards Robot World and Bathtub Buggy.
