Upriver
Hollywood Theatres Portland EcoFilm Festival premieres the documentary in an outdoor screening, Saturday, Sept. 26, at Sellwood Riverfront Park. The movie is directed by Oregon filmmaker Jeremy Monroe of Freshwaters Illustrated, and it tells the story of the Willamette River basin, where roughly two-thirds of Oregonians live and where human use and abuse have made an impact throughout the years. Its free, and the evening starts with live music at 5 p.m., free Chipotle Mexican Grill burritos to the first 200 attendees, and free river paddling courtesy of Willamette Riverkeeper and Alder Creek Kayak, Canoe, SUP and Raft.
